In-person AI meetup — April 1 at Amsterdam Science Park
Join this hands-on AI challenge and build an AI sommelier agent that recommends Italian wines for dishes.
Using a real wine dataset, you’ll design an AI solution that thinks like a sommelier — combining data, flavour logic, and AI reasoning.
Selected participants will present their solution live at the AI Sommelier Showcase Meetup on April 1 in Amsterdam.
Join the challenge or simply attend the meetup to see the AI agents in action.
*Suitable for: anyone comfortable with Python or APIs.
How the Challenge Works
After registering, you will receive all challenge materials and instructions.
The challenge materials include:
• the Slurpini wine dataset
• the technical brief
• development guidelines
• the submission requirements
The materials will guide you step by step as you design and build your AI sommelier agent.
What you will build
Over the next weeks, you will design and develop an AI Sommelier Agent that recommends wines for dishes.
Your AI should:
Analyze the Slurpini wine dataset
Understand tasting notes and flavour descriptors
Apply wine pairing logic
Recommend the best wine and explain why
Example query:
"What wine pairs best with spaghetti alle vongole?"
Your AI should return:
Wine recommendation
Reason for pairing
Serving tip (optional)

Final Deliverables
To complete the challenge, participants must submit:
• A working demo (live or recorded)
• A short presentation (max 10 slides)
• Their code or prompt architecture
Selected teams will present their solutions live to a jury at the AI Sommelier Showcase Meetup.
